Where We Begin, Again
2026
"Where We Begin, Again" explores memory, identity, and the relationships that shaped my understanding of home. Using portraits, scanned family photographs, childhood videotapes, and newly created images, I construct layered compositions that move between past and present. The work approaches memory not as a fixed record, but as something emotional, fragmented, and continually reinterpreted.

By pairing archival materials with new photographs, I revisit familiar histories while considering how images shape what we remember and how we understand ourselves over time. Natural light, absence, and fragmented self-representation reflect the instability of memory and the difficulty of locating a singular identity within it.

Rather than reconstructing the past, the project centers on return and repetition, examining how revisiting personal history reshapes the present through layered imagery and tactile processes.
